Clothing/Appearance:
Mayu is a fairly tall woman- I'd put her at roughly 5'8". She's no lightweight, though. She keeps herself fit, in that sleek sort of way, so she weighs more than her rail-thin profile suggests. She does have some slight curves to her figure, but she doesn't typically dress to accentuate them.
Mayu's hair is long, reaching the middle of her back when it's down. When she's in a working state of mind, she puts it up in a ponytail, out of the way. She wears it down when she doesn't expect to be out and about, so primarily at the cabin. Her bangs are kept level with her eyes, and arranged in a way that doesn't hinder her vision. Now, being very much a side character, Mayu doesn't get many color shots. The one semi-official pic that I saw had her with brown hair and brown eyes, and that's what I'm sticking to. She does know her way around hair coloring sets, so if I find out something different, we'll just say she changed it herself.
She does pay attention to what she wears for the day. Dresses appropriately for the weather, and for what she plans to do that day. She has a wide variety of tops, from t-shirts to sweaters to blouses, all of which are modest. Mayu prefers jeans over slacks and both over skirts and dresses. She doesn't really dress overtly feminine unless she's... asserting her womanhood, let's say. Which is in the blue-moon state in rate of occurrence right now.
Habits/Mannerisms/Body Language:
Mayu has an assertive personality, and oftentimes it shows! She has a long stride and a quick pace, she stands straight, her hands plant on her hips when she's making a point. In camp, she's made the effort to be more diplomatic, rather than "book first and ask questions later" because she's normal and still relatively new. She doesn't know who is capable of sending her to the moogles right off the bat!
She's also a bit territorial. She's staked out a few areas that are "hers"- her room, maybe a corner of the cabin where she likes to read/fuss with her laptop/etc., her office/workstation in the library. And if you're on good terms with her, she'll accept your company there, even welcome it! But if one has any sense at all, one does not start trouble in her areas. She will take it as a challenge and she'll reach for the book and put the offender in his/her/its place. (The immediate space around her? That's hers too.)
Personal space is the special topic here. Because she has respect for it! And yet, she's not afraid of breaching it momentarily, when she has to. And even then, her touch is mitigated- it's very brief, or she doesn't touch the other person directly. Her own personal bubble is not as important to her- she loves receiving physical affection from people she's close to! (From canon, that was her biggest complaint about dating Shigure, aside from the manipulation.) And if she doesn't like you, being in close proximity means she can hit you easier! So, she's more concerned about other people's space than her own.
Current Residence:
Boys' 16.2! Which I'm not certain if it's a separate building from #16, or the second story, or another annex, but what matters is that it's her home right now and she makes her way to and from it easily.
Typical Daily Routine:
Mayu tends to do things when she wants to do them and not a second before, so exact calculations are hard. But after getting up, she showers and gets dressed. She either eats a heavy breakfast from the Mess Hall or a lighter one at the cabin. Then it's time for work. She'll be at the library most days, for at least the morning hours. Again, eats lunch at the Mess Hall unless it's Tuesday. After lunch, she'll go back to the library or wander around camp seeing what's up if work is slow. Usually heads back to 16.2 late afternoon to check in with Hatori, and her dinner plans vary from going to the Mess Hall to *gasp* making dinner herself. After dinner, she stays in the cabin unless there's something that peaks her interest going on outside. And when she gets tired, she goes to bed!
Favorite Haunts:
The library, even when she's not working. The Mess Hall, for meals and snacks, lol high metabolism. Wherever she expects her books to be delivered, she'll hang around and get a feel for the area days ahead of time. And as mentioned before, in the evenings, unless something big is happening, she's in 16.2.
